Once you have purchased your new above
ground hot tub or spa it is time to install it. This new hot tub will
add great value to your home, giving you a comfortable place to relax
and renew yourself for years to come.
A flat site should be prepared before your new hot tub is ever delivered
at your home. Pick your location carefully, and be sure that whether it
is on your deck or in your yard that there is ample room to accommodate
the hot tub you have chosen. It is also a good idea to inspect the spot
carefully to see if it is level.
Have several 2 x 4s ready at home when the tub is delivered. These will
provide support on the bottom of the tub. The foot well of the tub will
not actually touch the ground or deck, but is not strong enough to hold
the weight of the water on its own. Wood is the best material to use to
support the foot well, as it will give more than concrete, but not quite
as much as soil. You should take the important safety precaution of
supporting the bottom of your hot tub, even if it is placed on a wood
deck.
Your next step will be to figure out which type of electrical outlet is
required by your hot tub, 110 volt or 220 volt. You should be able to
find this information quickly in your user manual. You could also look
at the heater control box on you hot tub if you are unable to locate
your users manual. The voltage requirements of your hot tub should be
clearly marked; all you need to do is remove the access panel and look.
There are some control boxes that have the capacity to use either 110
volt or 220 volt. Be sure that you are clear about which type of power
you need. |
