Caring for your hot tub and spa
cover:
Every other month, the
spa cover should be cleaned
and protected. You could use a cleaner like Spray Away cleaner and or
Spa Bright wax.
We would not use Armor all on hot tub covers. It prematurely dries out
the cover material and causes it to get brittle.
Every 2 or 3 months the hot tub cover should be unzipped and the foam
inserts should be aired out over night. This will keep the foams from
absorbing water and becoming too heavy.
While airing out the foams, turn covering inside out and spray with a
disinfectant such as Lysol. This will stop that musty smell.
Realize that the less the spa is used, and the less the cover is
removed, the more likely the foams are to become waterlogged and moldy.
The use of a Thermal Blanket under your cover will dramatically help
reduce foam water logging as well.
